Customer requirements

Packaging in Doypack pouches using mono-PE material (LDPE/LDPE)

Speed: 60 bags per minute, each weighing 400 g

Machine ready for:

  • in-line zipper
  • further conversion to "A" pillow bags made of laminate or PE, with or without a cross-zip
  • conversion to three-side-sealed bags

The solution provided

  • The VERSATILE-360 vertical packaging machine is designed for packaging deep-frozen fruit at a product temperature of –22 °C.
  • Three products were packaged on the machine: frozen raspberries, a fruit mix (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries), and blueberries.
  • The product was filled into Doypack pouches.
  • Packaging material used: two-layer LDPE/LDPE polyethylene.
  • The weight of the batches ranged from 350 to 1,000 grams, depending on the product type.
  • The packaging speed reached 55 bags per minute for raspberries and blueberries and 43 bags per minute for the fruit mix.
  • The solution was designed to be converted into a cross-zip bag and can also be easily converted into three-side-sealed bags with or without an in-line zip.
  • The machine operates at a temperature of 0+ °C, which requires the customer to use equipment to preheat the film.
  • The delivery included a motorized film unwinding system (VT+), which helps control the unwinding of monofilm, which tends to stretch.
